Australian wicket keeper/batsman, Matthew Wade, isn’t just any ordinary cricketer. ‘Wadey’ has been turning heads in both domestic and international cricket since he represented Australia in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
His gritty 96 run knock for Victoria paved the way for an unbelievable 305 run win against the Queensland Bulls – an achievement that landed them back-to-back Sheffield Shield titles. Wade successfully made a smooth transition into international cricket and his debut ODI international saw him scoring 67 off 69 balls and winning the Man of the Match title against India.
Oh! And if you thought he might be lacking in the longer format of the game, think again. Wade scored his first Test century in the third and final match of his maiden Test series against the West Indies. But what is it really that makes him special?
Wade uses PUMA’s Pulse 5000 Wicket keeping gloves & the effectiveness of the gloves added to Wade’s agility makes for a deadly combination. The gloves lightweight backhand imported PU gives the keeper amazing freedom of movement & its leather palm drilled line gives it incredible grip. It also has a Ping-Pong palm that conforms to ICC regulations and assists the keeper in holding on to that ball when in the air.
With 45 catches & 6 stumpings from 43 matches that includes tests, ODI’s & T20’s, Wadey appears all set to become Australia’s next big wicket keeper.
